Ability to perform common tasks to include reading and interpreting instructions; transporting cargo while operating motor vehicle with trailer transport; loading and unloading of cargo; operating commercial bucket loaders and forklifts; making minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.* Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element)* Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles)* Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)* Ability To Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle)* Operation of Motor Vehicles* Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order)* PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts moderate to heavy effort in securing loads with chains, straps, cables, etc., and in connecting and disconnecting air hoses and trailers. Good eye-hand-foot coordination and depth perception are required especially when positioning tractor-trailers, and when operating truck container handlers. Work requires climbing, stooping, bending, lifting and carrying of heavy material, occasionally up to 50 lbs., and ability to maintain a fast work pace for extended periods.* WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to working in a variety of weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicles. Drives in all types of weather and traffic conditions and on roads that may be rough, slick due to rain, ice, snow, or arctic conditions. Exposed to possible serious injury while driving vehicles and to cuts, bruises, and broken bones while loading and unloading vehicles, while operating material handling equipment, and handling material. Exposed to dust, dirt, and unpleasant weather conditions when working in outdoor areas during all seasons of the year.EducationThis job does not have an education qualification requirement.
