Loan Secretary(N) – Sitka BranchSalary: $ 16.25 /Hourly + DOEStart a career with First National Bank Alaska, the *Best Place to Work in Alaska* as recognized four years in a row by Alaska Business magazine readers.GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARYAssists one lending officer servicing a loan portfolio of less than $15M by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Provides office management and secretarial services for one lending officer.* Distributes applications; compiles, prepares, and processes loan file documents for Underwriting approval.* Sets up, completes, and maintains loan files for the lending officer; closes and disburses loans; files correspondence and other records.* Maintains collateral insurance, lien positions, and UCC filings.* Enters information into computer; maintains tracking log; assigns loan numbers.* Composes and prepares correspondence.* Makes document copies; assists customers with loan and escrow questions; takes messages.* Assists with personnel record keeping as needed.* Prepares outgoing mail and cost center bill payments.* Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Minimum: Two years administrative, financial services or lending-related experience; or combination of education/training and experience.Preferred: Financial services industry experience.SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to keyboard 45 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator by sight required. General office machine, word processing, spreadsheet, and Loan Calc/loan documentation software experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, interest, and percents.REASONING SKILLS:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
