Teller I – Homer BranchSalary: $ 14.00 /Hour + DOEStart a career with First National Bank Alaska, the *Best Place to Work in Alaska* as recognized four years in a row by Alaska Business magazine readers.GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY:Processes routine customer transactions adhering to established cash limits and ensuring compliance with established bank procedures and regulatory requirements by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Provides excellent service to branch customers; processes routine paying and receiving transactions, operates Teller Machines, and balances cash drawer.* Processes Automated Teller Machine, mail, and night depository transactions.* Analyzes checks and deposits for transaction anomalies and performs regulatory reporting as required.* Explains, promotes, and sells basic products and services, and refers customers to other appropriate areas of the bank for additional expertise.* Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Minimum: Six months cash handling or customer service experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.Preferred: Prior Teller experience.SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to operate a teller machine, 10-key calculator, and general office machines experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.REASONING SKILLS:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
